The accompanying map provides an overview of recommended rehearsal venues within approximately six miles of Symphony Hall, Birmingham, the central location for the British Open Spring Festival.

Map Key and Legend

The interactive map uses colour-coded markers to help users quickly identify reference points and venue types:

    • πŸ”΄ Red Marker – Symphony Hall:
The main contest venue and performance location for the British Open Spring Festival.
    • 🟒 Green Marker – Birmingham Town Hall:
An additional key performance and administrative location, used as a reference for proximity.
    • πŸ”΅ Blue Markers – Rehearsal Venues:
Bookable halls, churches, and community centres suitable for band rehearsals. Each marker opens a pop-up with details such as address, distance from Symphony Hall and Town Hall, and relevant contact information.

Each venue marker can be clicked to reveal more information, including hire links, contact details, and the estimated distance from both contest locations. The map is intended as a planning aid for visiting bands to identify rehearsal options quickly, assess travel distances, and select appropriate venues based on size, availability, and cost. It has been designed to help competing bands to easily identify suitable spaces for rehearsals on the Friday evening and Saturday of the contest weekend.

Each venue pin on the map includes key information such as:

  • Venue name and address
  • Distance from Symphony Hall and Birmingham Town Hall
  • Type of space (church hall, community centre, or performance venue)
  • Approximate capacity and suitability for full-band rehearsals

The venues shown range from large, purpose-built performance facilitiesβ€”such as the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and Gas Street Churchβ€”to smaller community and church halls ideal for sectional or warm-up rehearsals.
All locations have been selected for their proximity, accessibility, and experience hosting musical groups.

Distances are measured from both Symphony Hall and Birmingham Town Hall, offering a quick reference for travel time and logistics. The interactive version of the map allows users to click on each venue marker to view full details, including website links, contact information, and hire notes.
