Staycity’s mission is simple: to make travel easy, comfortable, and connected — wherever you go.

The scheme involves the British Open working directly with several well-established hotels in and around Birmingham to secure preferential rates for bands, their friends, and families. According to the official Hotels page, these partner hotels provide “exclusive accommodation deals … ensuring comfortable stays for all brass bands, their friends and family.”

Participating hotels include leading city venues such as:

• Radisson Blu Birmingham
• Novotel Birmingham Centre
• Crowne Plaza Birmingham City Centre
• Park Regis Birmingham
• B&B Hotel Birmingham Centre
• IBIS Birmingham

Many of these are located within close proximity to Symphony Hall — making them ideal for band members and supporters.

Bands interested in the scheme simply choose one of the partner hotels listed on the British Open website, apply the relevant promo code or contact the named booking representative, and secure their rooms at the agreed preferential rate.

For example:

• Spring Festival 2026: Radisson Blu – promo code BOBC0526 (email: Katharine.Armstrong@radissonhotels.com)
• British Open 2026: Novotel – promo code TBB0926 (email: Yannie.YAU@accor.com)

These tailored arrangements underline the organisers’ commitment to supporting competing bands — the scheme is a service, not a commercial venture.

For most bands, participating in the British Open represents months — sometimes years — of preparation and fundraising. Accommodation can be one of the biggest expenses. By partnering with trusted hotels, the scheme ensures that players, conductors, and supporters receive quality stays at the best possible rates, close to the contest venues.

This not only reduces costs but simplifies logistics, allowing bands to stay together, coordinate travel easily, and focus on performing. The shared experience across hotels also enhances the friendly, community spirit that defines the British Open weekend.

At its core, the British Open Hotel Scheme reflects the same spirit that has defined the contest for over a century: supporting the brass band community.

“By partnering with top Birmingham hotels, we secure the best rates so players can stay close to the action and enjoy the full British Open experience,” said Karyn Mortimer.
